An Ode to The Reaper

An Ode to The Reaper

A Poem by LA Waning
"

We can't live without him

"
All my friends and family are going to die
They'll die of sickness and pain and I'll cry
For Death is the reaper of all life
Oh glorious Death is the sower of all hope
If I wasn't afraid to die then why would I cry?
Oh Lord Death
taker of souls
giver of sorrow
we love you, our Death
and we hate you so
now forever stay
and don't go astray
turn our lives from white
to grey
to blues and blacks
to rot
take our prayer
then take us away

I enjoyed how you tried to incorporate fear and acceptance.
That was a well done piece of literature that i enjoyed.
Thank you

A dark sentiment, in deed. There's an essence of fear and an essence of acceptance within this. Brilliant how you were able to capture both. One thing I would suggest is to play around with the first five lines. The way the piece reads seems lopsided once you pass those lines. Very well done. Thank you for sharing.
