3 Poems of Death and BeautyA Poem by LA Waning~~The Newest House in Ghost Town~~ I have lived in the newest ghost house of a ghost town all my life If I go out walking with shades they'll push me into a deep ruined foundation Then I will be free to be in the newest house of a ghost town all my life If I follow the walking souls they'll throw me into the newest house of a ghost town All my life ~~In Bloom a Crimson Rose~~ In a valley of rainbows as thick as winter snow Hands twined with mine among flowers to bloom I ask her to follow for I have something to show Her lily white skin trembles from dread of doom With whispers I fight off all her fears of the day I tell her I love her until the end with her I'll stay As we arrive where all of God's color does flower I pull her near for it's drawing close to our hour I ask her to be my bride as the dawn fills the sky Sun rays glitter golden tears of joy she does cry After we kiss I promise her in time all flowers die I could tell as she blossomed she understood why Once a beautiful scarlet rose was afraid of the sun She could never blossom until two souls were one She wore a mask of lily over color only God knows Yet under that ocean in bloom a single crimson rose ~~The Lattice Needs~~ The things grab at the cobwebs they see floating in the air fractals and spirals snowflakes and veins the winds blow them away they were never there bends and warps expanses and blurs without memories they struggle they can't find themselves anywhere a fire must desire to keep itself alive you know if that flame does not die things would be burning everywhere seeds and splinters hungers and cinders © 2014 LA WaningAuthor's Note
