america's missing children

america's missing children

A Poem by azog
"

found several pages of an old newspaper lining the drawers of a dresser i recently inherited. made a "cut-up" using the headlines.

"
america's missing children

zimbabwe
is finding reality has left us
it is bent but not broken
a captive of fear and compromises
it is caged
a hostage
of reagan of mengele
of US and UN
of embargoes economy war
police mexico and korea
justice and the dead
of one-party rule
and errors of the past
thus
we give birth to the captive
our own creation
beautiful and obscure
without rule nor care
pain nor veil
it is ours to want
to seek to join to become
the end of all
when all is one
it is zimbabwe
it is done

i had no idea what to make it about and i happened to have two headlines about zimbabwe. i just threw 'em in there and it worked. good enough for me.

your 'cut-up' poems really seem to be just that. i suggest you work on your continuity and flow. just my opinion, for what it's worth. work on your basics before going experimental. dali learned how to paint a realistic clock before he painted them melting.
