Bone Structure

Bone Structure

A Poem by Jezebel Marie
"

I wrote this poem when I was in a content state of mind. The feeling didn't last long, but the poem stuck around with me.

"

I have a spine.
It's structured and strong.
Entwined in the rivets is my heart, my head, my soul...

It's as if my love- my compassion-
is twisted up through me like a tree.
The tree is heavy with the things I once learned.

It was broken once- only once,
and it was a very long time ago.
And now when I sing,
the song wraps around my spine,
my love, and my compassion.
Everything is written there- engraved.
Stories upon stories.
My spine could sound symphonies of who I am.
