We leave it behind, and it leaves us. My own style has changed so much, but I guess as poets we learn that the evolvtion in itself is a gorgeous and miraculous thing, we shouldn't try to stop change and we shouldn't fret or regret it, but wielded it into our own frame.

perhaps people's style evolve and you might find that it is way too different from what you're writing now. i know what it's like to lose a style of writing then get nostalgic over it. great poem.

Beautiful. I can relate to this. Not because of outside influences... but, because of writer's block. Before I could get five words strung together, it was gone. This says it exactly the way it happened. Thanks John, for reminding me. lol!
