blossoms

blossoms

A Poem by John Jackson (El Juero)
"

the big tree in front of Mom's house.

"
nature yet lives,
in a small town.
the apricot tree blooms,
like so much popcorn,
this bittersweet spring.
it's fragrance awakens
an olfactory memory,
of warm cobbler on Sunday,
from a simpler time.

How gorgeous! I'm not up on all the poetry forms but am learning. I'd say your poem is free style, straight from the heart and full of deep feeling. It is the basis for many poet's beginnings. Just lovely, John, delicate and touching. I can see and feel it. The fragrance is breathtaking.
