A Poem by John Jackson (El Juero)
"

so many meanings...

"
my hectic life,
 fast motion
 often chaotic.
 or is it just
 that I forgot,
 to greet the Sun,
 observe,
 look into someone's eyes,
 smell a flower,
 pet the dog,
 breathe deeply,
 walk slowly, outside,
 hug a friend,
 participate in conversation,
 read and feel poetry,
 welcome the Moon,
 laugh and love,
 live
  and be.

The flubbed photo i took became the muse. It's a lovely mistake, for i got to take an inventory, and am much calmer now...

Isn't it just? Makes me think of memory why I remember the pointless and forget what is seemingly imperative. Am I missing something. Makes me think about how just the other day I felt it had been a long time since i had pet a dog and how great they are. Simple little things that define something so much bigger in this world.

This is the type of poetry I love, it's realistic but crafted in hows it's written at the same time. Thank you for posting it.

This is a fast paced lesson on slowing down!
But it is a powerful one nonetheless.. :-)

Beautiful. Your poems always seem to create feeling in the reader. I love the short and chopped lines, they add depth to the narrative. Gorgeous.

Your poetry tell a real story. We must slow down our world and enjoy the simple things. You had many good examples of what we need to do. All of us need a quiet place and time with family and friends. Laughter allow us to know we are alive and well. A excellent poem.
