![]() Another Winter's MondayA Poem by John Jackson (El Juero)![]() for a contest honoring Pablo Neruda![]() On a gray Sunday afternoon, solid cloud unburdened it's snow, in apparently endless torrent. It seems we shovel every day this year. You and I saying little, quiet but for the rhythmic scrape of shovel on pavement, and the muffled sound of passersby. I see you, my love, and worry inwardly, for the snow is heavy and very wet. Our labor gives me pause and reflection, reinforcing the togetherness of us. Your thick, long hair tousled, seductive. Cheeks blushed the color of Rugosa rose, I see you again, as if for the first time. My voice once more fails to tell you of the wellspring of joy, and the love I carefully hold for you, deep within my heart.
