Prey

Prey

A Poem by John Jackson (El Juero)
"

Ironically, it is myself that i prey upon...

"
outside the meeting hall door
chatting men, close together
clouds of cigarette smoke hang low
on this chill december night
reluctantly they go on their way
huddling in one's and two's
 the gauntlet of temptation
entices on every corner
pleasure and pain awaits

walk on by...

there where the art comes in ...knowing where to start and finish a piece without losing the impact or over dramatizing..you nailed this ...in it noir film feel...great work

you've captured the elemental sadness in this scene that plays out over and over again...and always seems to be december even when it's not

you captured this well. It's weird to think this poem applies to so many places, towns, countries. Brilliant. loved it. Thankyou.

I remember watching a group of A.A. meet at the local resturant . together they joked and laughed , but as the evening dwindled , I could see it in their eyes , their return to their life , that fear behind a mask . You captured that .
