My Dear Writing Friend,
I have not heard a poem about ice cream ever, what a novel approach to an addiction us Alaskans have as we eat per capita more ice cream than the lower forty-nine. Your poem placed me there with you in a deck chair, listing to the drone of bugs and traffic, slowly under a perfect Alaskan sky enjoying my favorite flavor, vanilla. A excellent fun poem.
I am not that crazy for ice cream, but the title attracted me. However, I love date nut bars. I used to make them in the middle of the night and save some for myself, in a tin behind all of those things that no one touches, except the one who makes the goodies. LOL! We all deserve a nice quiet treat, now and again. I liked this write and know the feeling behind it!
I love ice cream, I'll join you, can't resist an invitation for ice cream. I think I'll go sit outside, listen to the birds, watch the butterflies, enjoy the peace and the sweetness.

Ahhhh, this was one I could so easily relate too! How enjoyable is a quiet summering moment to just sit and sigh.. and devour ice cream.. Ok.. now I must see what's in the freezer!
I'm a middle aged man, trying to live as I believe. As many here do, I practice a 'read/read' policy. The RR's just are too much. I hope I can participate with as many of you Outstanding writers as po.. more..
