City Bear

City Bear

A Poem by John Jackson (El Juero)
"

awesome

"
deeper than the edge of the city
young Black Bear loping
fearless and keenly aware
muscles rippling, coat glistening
effortlessly bounding fences
disappearing into brush
moving, always moving
in it's voracious quest for food

Occasionally we get the Black bears in the phoenix area when droughts or fires push them into the valley looking for food and water. We also get a few mountain lions. They always make the news. That is a beautiful bear, and a beautiful piece...great work.

Bears are awesome , and we seem to have a mutual respect when in the wild . they do have personalities and cubs are sometimes too friendly - great pic , great expression of the experience .

a gorgeous and lyrically powerful poem in which the words are cultivated so that they thrum like the deep heart of Bear~

"This is my land this is your land, this is the land was made for you and me" I can hear this bear singing this as hops over the fences that won't hold nature back.

Great Write Man!

I can hear the crunching of branches and leaves underfoot! Hear the breathing of Brother "Shush"-thank you for this glimpse into Alaska.
