A Poem by John Jackson (El Juero)
"

tested friendships

"
feeling nervous
an opinion offered
a vehement objection
ancient fear of rejection
twinge of indignation
can't stay silent
about blatant hypocrisy
affecting you and me
i would die for you
or has that been forgotten
all of our years together
have we grown that far away?
alas i live in my own skin
navigating the world
striving to find my way
knowing who i must be true to

This has been feelings I have felt myself with a close friend, confusion of why she felt our friendship no longer existed because of a growing distance that has occurred naturally over time with our ever changing lives...I was sad and disappointed because I'm a deeply loyal person and no matter the distance or time apart a good friend will always be a good friend. You captured those feelings very well!
