If you were here

If you were here

A Poem by Ayesha Atif

Inhale, exhale, Inhale, exhale,

Don't leave so soon, I'll be wretched,

Rubbing your hands, your daughter said,

Hoping this isn't your last breath,

You left, you left, you left,

Everyone said go on and forget,

How can I ever forget,

Waterfall tears I cried in prayers,

Stitching my heart screaming in pain,

Looking into my eyes saying 'baby you're my life',

You left, you left, you left,

Your life forever, left her stranded for life time,

Life changed for me,

I ran away I ran away I left the pain,

But your memories keep coming back,

I read your last words every night,

Remember you in my prayers,

Ask me,

What is being lonely?

Ask me,

How it is to be secretive?

Ask me,

How it feels to stand beside your grave?

I wish you were here,

Shopping, gigling, going out and sharing,

Nobody's here so close, I feel so insecure.

Rusted, unpolished  little girl,

Doesn't know where to go..

I wish you were here to guide me..

I wish  you were here..

'I love you' and its just not enough..
