 Morning Cigarette

Morning Cigarette

A Poem by ayejodie
"

The morning after the night before

"
In the waves of the sheets,
We twirled in smiles and laughter.
The yellow tones of sun
Crept in like smoke.
In the warmth,
we hid from the world.

I ran my fingers through your hair,
Your head on my shoulders
-You kissed my neck.
Two bodies, we lay there,
exactly the same.

Your arms, painted with ink,
Enclosed around me.
You looked at me with green eyes,
While your fingers traced my skin.

You came and found me,
When I was lost inside.
And have shown me I am still alive.
As the minutes passed,
And I'd have to leave,

- I begged for just one more.
