~i think i will sit this one out~

A Poem by Grace

I live out my days now balanced

upon the paper thin memories

of what use to be;

I so want to move forward

but I am a creature of habit,

and so I will for now anyway;

continue to exist within

all of my yesterdays.

It’s easier this way

and sometimes,

I can even find a tangible

moment of comfort

where none has ever

existed before.

I should be in hospital

for my heart is broken.

The poor thing

has lost its rhythmic flow.

It has lost its desire

to even attempt

the mundane movement

of beating, let alone that

of sustaining a life.

How sad when once

it played all night symphonies,

while dancing foolishly

within my chest

at the very sight of you.

If the truth be told

I think I shall never

dance again,

not with you

or any other.

Yes, the last stanza nails it...When the heart breaks, no hospital, no medicine, no talk makes it better...sometimes it just better to sit it through.....sometimes may last for eternity.....I like how this piece flows and yet makes you stop to think.
