Buried Deep

Buried Deep

A Poem by Nora Mandrus

I will miss you always.
Time does not regenerate pieces from our hearts.
All of the tomorrows will seem dimmer
And all of the yesterdays will be brighter.
A reminder of you.
I will plant a willow tree and name it after you.
Whimsical and optimistic.
A reminder of you.
Your touch could melt ice.
Your words could build mountains.
Your breath on my skin made everything easy.
I will move on.
I must,
For to dwell in the past
You must remain still in the present.
True sadness clings to the bones and rots away as you do in your grave.
I will wait for the day when time has taken my life so I can shake off the pain.
No one will ever know you like this.
A crime.
An injustice.
Writing cannot immortalize you my love but why should it?
You are more than what words can say.
