Drop

Drop

A Poem by Nora Mandrus

A tear.
A cold reminder of what was.
A tear.
A relief from the emotion welling up inside you.
A tear.
A mixture of water and salt that crawls down your face as you slip away from everything.
As much as I want to
I won't.
You never let me forget what it means
To cry.
I miss the rain
But not the clouds.
I miss the sun
But not the heat.
Disappointment.
I'm used to it.
I cause it.
Happiness.
I've felt it.
I've chased it away.
Fleeting moments.
That's what life is.
A tear.
Shed for eternity
For you…
For your soul…
For your smile.

you already know I love this one. One of my favorites from you. A beautiful 360 perspective of what a tear is, means, and what it can become. "That's what life is. A tear."
