Some Nights

Some Nights

A Poem by Nora Mandrus

Wisdom comes with time but I don't have any to spare.
How I wish I could wait out the war but that's not how they are won.
Peace does not come without action.
Listen for harmony.
It's all I want to hear.
I'm sick of tasting tears shed and feeling my strength crumble beneath your feet.
When everything is right, you can feel it in your bones...
In your soul.
Voices tell me to carry on.
The will to walk...
The will to run...
Lies in the horizon.
Starlight leads me on.
The night makes more sense than the day.
I can deal with growing older but I will not grow into another you.
Plan for the present to be something to remember in the future.
