All the yesterdays

All the yesterdays

A Poem by chaotic katie

I grow older,

The sun grows colder,

Days go by,

Darkening skies,

I grow taller,

Hope seems smaller,

Blow the candles out,

Settling in this shadow of doubt,

Learning new lessons,

Discovering depression,

Meeting new friends,

They leave in the end,

A happy song,

its twisted story,

all the strife,

this time no glory,

kneeling down,

empty prayers,

endless dark,

i grow scared,

innocence slipping,

imagination chipping,

no longer so numb,

I have to wonder,

If I’m the only one,

Shadows used to dance,

On the walls at home,

They spread to create darkness,

I’m left to fight it alone.

thanks glad you liked it
This actually sounds like it could be a really beautiful, haunting song if someone was to put it to music. A very relatable topic - you are definitely not alone!
