See no evil

A Story by chaotic katie

“She’s so beautiful”, said Allison, a new mother of a beautiful baby girl. This was not just any baby girl however, she was half demon. James, the child’s father was born a demon, but escaped the grim future that awaited him my seeking the help of an angel, whom he had fallen in love with, the child’s mother Allison. Though it would be a challenge raising a half demon child, the two made a pact to teach her the best ways. Little did they know that something darker, more sinister would befall upon them. Zelchia, a strong and powerful demon was angered at James for leaving his demon lifestyle and wanted revenge. James never considered the choice before, especially as he gazed down at Zaria, his newborn baby girl. “I know a few lullabys, I could try to get her to sleep”, Allison whispered. James smiled and lifted Zaria into her crib. Allison stood from the rocking chair where she sat and stood over the crib and began to sing. “rock a bye baby on the treetop, when the wind blows the cradle will rock”. Suddenly the door burst open, letting in a deathly chill. A shadowy figure  emereged grinning a horrible deathly grin. It was Yasha, a female demon whom worked for Zelchia. She was acompanied by Zentaeo, Her brother. The two killed James and Allison, with much more effort than they would have used for mortals. Yasha reached into the crib and picked the child up. “and down will come baby, cradle and all”, She grinned, walking over to the window and opening it with the deadly wild radiating from her. “STOP!” Screamed another chilly voice from the doorway. It was none other than Zelchia himself. “The child could be of use to us”, he said, taking Zaria away from Yasha. “We take her sight, let her see only when she commits a violent sin, drive her to it, make her belive that it is her path”, He said, running a gloved hand down the child’s face.  She began to cry.  “This is your path child, you belong with us”, he finished. After the deed was done, they left the child, setting a fire to draw attention to the home. Sirens began to sound in the distance. Zelchia stood proud with his acomplices. “Now, the fun begins.” He smirked, and with that, they disappeared, for now at least.

“I found her in the home, only survivior, weird though, her parents bodies were in the nursery with her, nothing on top of them, and not close to the open window either.” Said a fireman. “She is blind”, A paramedic said. “Think it could have been from the fire?”, She asked. “Who knows, maybe she was born like that, but we haven’t the time to waste, take her to the hospital to make sure  she is alright. If she is, then call anyone you can who may be related to the family”, the firefighter demanded.

Weeks later, Zaria was taken into custody by a townwoman unable to have a child. “Such a beautiful baby, I was so lucky to end up with you, I’ll take extra good care of you”, the woman said. All went well, until one dreary day when the woman sat Zaria down on the counter. Zentaeo sensed a potential opportunity to make the child commit her first sin. He used controll to lead her to a tub of bleach. The moment Zaria touched it, her eyes were filled with hypnotic circles, a purple hue began to circle them. The most astonishing part of it was that she could see. She could see the woman with her back turned, cleaning the floor and she could see the steaming hot cup of coffee not far from the bleach. Instinct took over and the child tipped the bleach into the coffee and catching the cup with her foot, out of instinct. Now you would think a child would not have the mind power or the strength to lift the bleach back up into its original position, but mind you, Zaria is not a normal child, but not bad either, she was simply too young to control the power that was taking her over. Sadly, the woman who was raising Zaria did not see what had happened just seconds before and picked up her coffee. The woman died. The woman’s sister came by the home later that day, seeing the woman lying dead on the floor and called the police. “Its weird, there are traces of chemicals that have to be from the bleach in her body, but the container was sitting upright so if the child would have accidently tipped it, one the woman would have noticed and two, the container would have been upright”, a detective explained. “You ever considered it to be a suicide detective?”, the policeman asked.

Meanwhile, Zelchia called Yaha and Zentaeo to meet with him. “You must take the child, but remember to be patient with her, if she is harmed I will personally hunt you down and turn you to nothing.”, He demanded. The two agreed fearfully. Zelchia turned to his human form. “You will need human bodies, if you murder and posess one it will be sloppy and questionable if anyone were to find out, especially the child. I will create bodies for you and you will start your task imediately”, Zelchia explained, and so it was that the demons went by Amy and Allan Duncan.

“I must warn you sir, the child appears to be bad luck”, the receptionist explained. “Don’t be silly, it is a child”, Amy interupted. “What my lovely wife means to say is..”, Allan said, looking into the woman’s eyes. “We will take the child, and you will not stop us”, he finished, leaving a copy of an adoption certificate on the desk. Amy walked up to the nursery, returning with Zaria in her arms and with that they left the orphanage.

Though Zaria fought to try to keep these sins from occuring, they still did. The demons would erase her memory, leaving her confused about what she was doing as she got older and wiser. Sixteen years had passed. Zaria walked through the high school cafeteria minding her own business. Being as she was blind, she used her senses to get about since “Amy and Allen” had “convinced” the appropriate people that she did not need a cane. She was still listed as blind on all her school records and people knew it, but the situation lacked symathy, especially when she accidentily slammed her tray into Meibeth, the most popular girl in the school. “You blind baboon, look what you did you freak”, Meribeth shreiked as Zaria heard her prada heels tap against the floor with every step. Then, it came to her, the sight, she seen Meibeth’s stawberry blonde hair, bathed in pink from head to toe. “Don’t listen to those girls, they’re like real life barbies.”, said a brown haired boy with glistening brown eyes. At that moment, her sight faded. She tried to play it cool, like she wasn’t battleing her urge to spill their blood, which she thought would probably look like a spilled bottle of pepto bismol. “Thought barbies were supposed to be nice”, Zaria scowled. “Sorry, inarurate discription I guess, don’t let them get to you, they are like that to everyone”, he advised. Zaria felt her anger rising to the surface. “You okay?”, the boy asked. “I have to go”, Zaria said as she quickly rushed away. Instinct quickly took over, and not long after the last bell of the day, Meribeth and her army of barbies were dead.

Zaria woke the next day, feeling guiltly, but she had no idea why. Yasha and Zentaeo had erased the memory from her mind. At lunch, she was startled by the voice of the brown haired boy. “Hope you don’t mind me joining you”, he said. Zaria shook her head to say she didn’t mind, but she had a bad feeling about it. “I never got the chance to introduce myself yesterday, I’m Micheal”, he said. “Zaria”, she replied. “Look”, she said, a serious tone about her voice. “You should go”, she said. “Do you have a reason why?”, he asked smugly. “You’ll think I’m crazy”, she warned and hoped he would leave. “I want the reason”, he said. “When I get angry”, Zaria sighed, “I get my sight back, and then the people who I see end up dead and I don’t know why. Meribeth and her clan of brainwashed barbie dolls made me mad, and I seen them clearly, like if you pop off their heads, then they would bleed pepto bismol”, she tried to joke, hoping Micheal wouldn’t take it as crazy as it souned. “Hey, helps out with the aftermath of the food in this cafeteria”, he joked. Zaria put her head down, feeling her hair covering her face. “You were the last thing I seen and I’m scared that if you get too close to me, you might get hurt too, disappear like the rest of them, I feel like I’m danerous but I don’t know why”, she confessed. She sensed seriousness from him. “I do”, he said. “How could you possibly know?”, she snapped. “I’m an extrosist, and I can sense a very stong attatchment of demons to you”. “Demons?”, Zaria jumped back. “You sound crazier than me”. “You can’t explain the things that are happening to you, I can, but you have to stay calm and let me try to help”, he said. She nodded in agreement, desperate for answers. He placed his hands on her head. Distant memories began to come back. “Your foster parents”, micheal confirmed, “They were hired by another demon, a strong demon to kill you parents and use you to their advantage. They stole your sight. You can only fight this off because of you angelic mother and the strength of you converted ex demon father,, that’s why they want you, your parents” Micheal explained. Memories came back suddenly and hit Zaria. She seen what “Amy and Allen” really were, seen everything, and now some payback was more than due. “If you’ll exuse me”, Zaria said, trying to stay calm. Her attempts failed. “Zaria! Come back! You’ll get yourself killed!”, Micheal screamed after her. She used her angelic speed and demon strength for the first time and got to the house in no time.

She kicked open the door. “Payback time!”, she smirked, charging at the demons as her sight returned. She seen a third figure  emerge just as she had almost defeated Yaha and Zentaeo. “You defiant little brat!”, Zelchia  growled, sending her flying across the room to the stone fireplace. Zaria was knocked unconcious because of the impact of the stone and just when he was about to finish her off, Micheal burst in. The air he brought with him powerful enough to bring Zaria to her senses. All she could do was watch as his eyes changed to a deep purple and with somewhat of a fight, resulting in gashes on his neck, arms, and face, he defeated them. He ran to Zaria worriedly. “I could see you, but its gone now, I don’t feel like killing you though”, she joked, knowing she was in no danger of harming him. Micheal leaned in close to her, she could feel  his warm, coomforting breath near her face. “I want to try something”, he said to her. “What?”, Zaria questioned nervously. “This”, he said, gently pressing his lips to hers. She could feel a darkness not only  being lifted from her, but distroyed completely. When they seperated she opened her eyes, and she could see him! His brown hair falling into his eyes that were once again their usual brown. He wore a black t-shirt with a dark brown leather jacket and a pocket watch on a chain hung from his neck. He looked down at the trinket and took it off, putting it over Zaria’s head. “It was my dad’s, I want you to have it”, he insisted. She looked down at the golden watch then back at Micheal, noticing his gashes. “You’re hurt”, Zaria said weakly. “I’m fine”, he assured her. “She looked at him in seriousness. “What happens now?”, she asked, “for me I mean”. “I don’t know”, he confessed, “but I’m going to keep you safe Zaria, that’s a promise”, he said, looking into her now blue eyes as he helped her up. “I promise”, he repeated, and from then on, Zaria was protected from the evil she was blinded from all her life.  She walked out of the small and half destroyed house with her savior, hungry for a new beginning.
