![]() why the wolf howls to the moonA Story by chaotic katieLong ago, an angel of night, named Moon, had finished her task of spreading the blanket of stars across the sky. She gazed down upon the world. “Oh how I wish I could explore the world below”, she thought to herself, then she had an idea. “When I take the blanket of stars out of the sky, I will have all day to explore the world, then I could come back here and spread the stars across the sky”. After folding the blanket of stars carefully, the angel set off on her journey. On earth she met a charming young man whom had helped her explore. At the end of the day the two had fallen in love. “Please do not leave me, my angel”, he begged her. “My job is not all that important.”, she convinced herself, “I will stay with you”, she promised him. The angel expected that someone else would come to take her place, but the other angels had gone off to search the galaxy for the lost angel. Day went on for almost a week, and the sun was growing angry. Eventually, the sun learned of the angel and how the man had convinced her to stay on earth with him. Furious, the sun used its magic and shone its rays upon the man, turning him into a wolf. “Think of all the over worked, tired, and confused farmers are working away in the fields that you have let down”, the sun said, frowning upon the angel. “Don’t worry, I will make it up to them. I will turn myself into a bright ball in the sky, and I will allow myself to show different amounts of light in the sky, in phases, to help the farmers better care for their crops.”, Moon explained. “Do this moon, and I will spare this wolf of being burned to a crisp”, the sun replied. Moon kissed the wolf on his forehead and took her position in the sky. That is why the wolf howls at the moon every night to make sure that nothing would happen to his precious angel. © 2013 chaotic katieAuthor's Note
