Silent OneA Poem by The Avid BibliophileI am the Silent One You do not see, but I am here You do not see my pain I do not shed a tear I suffer in silence Feeling so alone I have no friends to count on I’m here all on my own I am the Silent One Older than my years I keep all of their secrets I hide from you my fears You think I do not notice When you look and laugh at me You think that I don’t care But it hurts me to see I am the Silent One I’m hopelessly lost I’ve numbed myself from feeling My heart is full of frost So look and when you see me Stop and lend a hand Help me to the light again Help me to take a stand I am the Silent One I can’t speak for myself But with your gentle guidance I surely can be helped © 2010 The Avid Bibliophile |
