Have you ever looked?

Have you ever looked?

A Poem by The Avid Bibliophile

Have you ever looked at my eyes?

If you ever did, you’d see

They’re usually hazel, but they sometimes change colours

They’re neither blue nor green.

Have you ever looked at my hair?

If you ever did, you’d see

It’s really auburn, but they call it red

It’s very curly and thinks it’s the boss of me.

Have you ever looked at my ears?

If you ever did, you’d see

I got them pierced once, but they closed up

It looks like there’s two holes in each.

Have you ever looked at my hands?

If you ever did, you’d see

I bite my nails, but I’m trying to stop

And then you’ll be proud of me.

But these little things don’t matter

If you paid attention, you’d see

You wouldn’t see the outside

But what’s inside of me.

A excellent poem. We look at people and don't really see them. Each of us have something inside that we can give and improve the world around us. Your description and story was very good. You are a talented young writer.
