Love Him

Love Him

A Poem by The Avid Bibliophile

Love him enough to hold him

And sing a mother’s song

Love him enough to teach him

And help him right his wrongs

Love him enough to kiss him

And wipe away his tears

Love him enough to teach him

To be strong and face his fears

Love him enough so that he may

Come to you when he is scared

Love him enough to laugh with him

At all the good times shared

Love him enough to encourage

Him to chase his dreams

Love him enough to teach him

Things aren’t what they seem

Love him enough to grant him

Forgiveness for his sins

Love him enough to teach him

That he can’t always win

Love him enough to shelter him

Yet let him face the truth

Love him enough to protect him

But let him have a youth

Love him enough to be there

And help him thrive and grow

Love him enough to realize

That you’ll have to let him go
