People are chameleons

People are chameleons

A Poem by The Avid Bibliophile

When she goes to school she’s happy

A smile plastered on her face

Nothing there can faze her

Her emptiness is set in place

When she comes home she’s passive

Because that’s what they want

She’s hardworking and silent

Ignoring all their taunts

When she goes out she’s carefree

Spending time with all her friends

She does whatever she likes

No matter which rules she bends

When she’s with her brother, she’s protective

Because she knows that’s what he needs

She always takes care of him

And she helps him to succeed

Her friend asked her one day,

“Amy, who are you really?

You have so many personas

That it’s difficult to see.”

Amy looked at her friend

And answered solemnly,

“People are chameleons

That change for all to see.”

haha, I like this poem alot, I think the ending was humorous, but it also left me thinking because this whole concept has been in my head today. The whole poem kept me reading and I liked your phrase at the ending 'People are chameleons that change for all to see'. That was a brilliant finish. Great job :)
