Caveat

Caveat

A Poem by The Avid Bibliophile
"

What matters most in the court of law? Has the value of truth been lost?

"

It doesn’t matter, right or wrong

It only matters who stands strong

The one who tells the better tale

True or not, they will prevail

Slippery serpents, hungry sharks

Lions roar and huge dogs bark

Distracting people from what’s true

Stick to your story and you’ll win too

In this court, it’s just a game

Weaving webs and placing blame

As the sky blazes and thunders

Everyone can’t help but wonder

If everything had to be true

What would become of me and you?

If ever we decide to start

Our world will burst and fall apart
