Just a short sentiment on happiness.

Happiness....

So close it can be seen and heard, yet the distance is insurmountable.

A notion touched only by the senses, never by the heart.

A luxury to be witnessed but never experienced, craved but never obtained.

A dream never to reach the face of reality.

A hope that remains just that, and nothing more…

that is just it, exactly as you have written,the mindset of the human mind, imagine if we found total happiness, how quickly would we become bored, we seem to have some instinct for mixing the bitter with the sweet, maybe it's the notion of mortality.
