Path of Life

A short poem reflecting on the paths of life one chooses and how important it is to make prudent decisions.

Merciless paranoia drives away sanity

Peace has become a mere word

The feeling of it I can no longer recall

So if but one wish were granted unto me

I would turn back time to change my history

 A different path I would take

For this one, though alluring by sight,

Has proved unworthy of living

Disguised as a life, it is a shameful facade

So if this tragedy can teach but one lesson

When courses diverge before your naive eyes

Choose wisely, prudently, for you have but one life.

you write so sad yet so well, is every choice we have made not irrelevant and redundant, that is not to say we should gloss over our past and not learn from it, but let every page be a new tomorrow....yes I know, easier said than done....

That is true. But it is also true that certain decisions we make shape our lives. Some choices cause temporary changes, but others cause permanent changes that leave their mark on our lives for all of time. Sometimes we make mistakes and we can't take them back.

also true but what is done is done, to coin a cliche, what can we do now to get over our mistakes, put them behind us, it's a hard fact and I know that, but is there any other way to move forward.
