Hopelessly FragileA Poem by AveTNA poem depicting the struggle of someone with a life-threatening addiction, battling with her inner self whether the chance to recover is worth a fight.A mind of steel and a heart of stone, But a body as frail as a crystal globe. Any emotion I can easily shake, But so much as touch me I will
surely break. Shattered pieces of a wasted life
are all that remain; Too weak to withstand the struggle
and to endure the pain. In invincibility did I once firmly
believe, But I now can feel death slowly catching
up to me. Subject to inevitability,
persistence seems in vain; Why bother to resist? Why bother
with the strain? Perfection is unreachable - a
truth I cannot accept. So into my mind for eternity, despair
and gloom have crept. I chase my own desires though they
prevail one step ahead; A craving left unsatisfied, a violent hunger
left unfed
