A Race Like No OtherA Poem by AveTNA poem depicting humanity and painting a picture of the characteristics that make humans so unique to other forms of life.
A race
that is bound by no intrinsic code; Morality,
as it wishes, comes and then goes. Fear
strikes the heart to live among such beings, For
this presence their Creator must have a hidden meaning. The
world in seconds could they bring to an end, Then
rise from the ashes to begin their lives again. A kind
that is unique, alike to no other. Truths
untold do they persist to uncover; Yet for
all of the wisdom that they hold in hand, The
simplest of truths they fail to understand. Their
enemy transforms from age to ceaseless age, Continually
taking new form, changing its shape. What
foe could be their present living hell? It is
by evidence their very own selves. If ruin
finds this race it will be their own design, From
their own weaknesses they will fail to survive. Important
as they seem they are only just a phase, The
universe will stand before and after their days. All
threats of attack they have fought to withstand, A race
known by all as the race of man. © 2014 AveTN |
