WomanA Poem by Katerina CHow woman were expected in the good old daysWe were expected to cook, to clean, to wash That’s all we did, that’s we were expected of We sat quietly, we talked softly, Because woman are better seen not heard We talked sweetly to the bitter tongs, we curtsied constantly to the slobs, we acted properly to everyone This is because we are ladies When all hope is lost we are the ones to break down and cry to scream in sorrow to wish we would die This is because are females This was because of how we were raised Hundred years has past So much has changed We order food, we mess up our room, we throw the dishes in the sink We don’t care what were expected of We talk constantly, we talk loudly Because that's how we are in this present generation We bite at the bitter tongs, we kick at the slobs, we choose who we want to respect This is because we stand up When all hope is lost we curse at the sky, we punch the walls and yes we even cry This is because we are human This is how we raise ourselves © 2010 Katerina CAuthor's Note
