No Jacket

Written in 2013.

There was a snowstorm outside and I was walking home from school. Two kids drove past me and yelled “Where’s your jacket, douchebag” making the assumption I was trying to look tough by not wearing a jacket.

The most despairing thing about that story is; I was too poor to own a jacket.
