For Coby

For Coby

A Poem by Aveira Corbett
"

A poem for someone that touched my life.

"

I cannot help but feel confused.
A life filled with dreams, and loving laughter.
Mistakes shrugged away, no apologies after.
I think of you often but speak not a word.
I feel guilt of the pain, in all you went through.
Knowing I can't take any onto me off of you.
You smiled through and said that I had saved you.
You were very much stronger than you ever knew.
Joking at gossip and running wild was a clue,
The this world was not built for someone like you.
I'm sure I'll know one day that all this is true.
Heavens made for angels, for those just like you.

The lines 2 and 3 are my favorites. It's weird how we expect apologies and then the other people don't even see it as necessary in such an instance. I wonder if that happens to everybody,
