Glimpse of The Zekronian Legion

Glimpse of The Zekronian Legion

I have been writing a novel for about a year now, off and on while I'm in school, very proud of it but not really sure what to do with it. This is a little background on the lore of the story.

"

“Have you ever heard a story so surreal you brushed it off as nothing? That’s what I thought of Zekron, just a myth, a legend, something to keep me distracted. A wild goose chase, if you will. The story went that long, long ago there was a civilization, called Zekron. The people of Zekron were obsessed with immortality. Being magic users, they worked for centuries on a way to never die. Finally they got their wish, or at least close enough. One of them found a way to become ageless. They were not invincible, but finally immortality was in their grasp.”

“Everyone became ecstatic, at least at first. Everyone wanted to be the first to become immortal. Unable to decide who would be the first they made an agreement. The magic would spread using a pulse throughout the city. Everyone would become immortal at once, or so they thought. The magic worked by binding their life force to their affinity to a piece of reality. Not everyone had that affinity. The moment the pulse was sent out, people dropped dead--a  lot of people. ”

“It is said that about one in a thousand people survived that day. The city of millions became a ghost town in seconds. Panic ensued. It didn’t last long though, one of the survivors later to be revealed to be the Old God of Order, began organizing them. Some decided to leave, and live out their long lives in isolation. Most stayed though, and they formed the Tribunal Of Old Gods. A council of immortals that would prevent devastation like this from ever happening again.”

“Many of the Old Gods had polar opposites, Order to Chaos, Fire to Water, Shadows to Light. So they parted ways, spreading across the globe, vowing to meet every hundred years to keep the world safe.”

“Around four hundred years ago, two of the most powerful Old Gods, Ankoku and Hikari, clashed. The resulting destruction was colossal. The Tribunal announced an unscheduled meeting, they had decided that such a thing should never happen. They sided with Hikari, and Ankoku was banished to the Shadow Dimension.”

“But that wasn’t enough, The Tribunal considered themselves lucky that the area Hikari and Ankoku had fought in was unpopulated. But what if next time they weren’t so lucky. They asked another of the titans amongst the Old Gods, the Old God of Time, Jikan, for a favor. His powers were vast, but time travel was beyond his reach, alone. Using Jikan as a catalyst it took three hundred Old Gods to create a crystal of time magic. The crystal  was a one time use and left Jikan exhausted, unable to make another for, well, no one really knows how long.”

“The time crystal is said to be guarded by the Legion. A unique old god, their piece of reality was Unity. The army of Zekron had been training together for so long that their brotherhood took shape as their affinity. Legion is an army of two hundred, but they have never lost a battle, ever. And the only one who could get it from them was in France.”

“Now I have to take the time crystal from them, to stop this from ever happening.” Kuragari finished with a nervous chuckle.

“If they’re half as strong as the legends say, these guys are no joke, they will kill anything that threatens the crystal. Decide now, are you in or out. There is no shame in leav-”

“Together” Senshi said.

Kuragari looked surprised, in all the time he had known Senshi, he had never spoken a word. He looked at the other two, both with equal parts surprise and agreement on their faces.

“Fine, we do this together, but one condition. No one dies today, alright. That’s a promise.” Kuragari stated firmly.

Each nodded their agreement. With that Kuragari reached out his hand, and warped them all to the mountain side where he had sensed Legion’s presence.

The ground shook as they warped in.

“What’s going on?” Kuri asked, “Did they already start their attack?” She frantically searched the sky for any projectiles.

“No,” Kuragari said pausing, “They’ve started their march”
