Heart

Heart

A Poem by Amanda Avalon

Bright sun resumes once more
Painfully bright bliss floords my retinae
One week later I pick up the pieces
I try to dam up the river of tears
They cease and flow, flow after a drought
I pull the plug
And scrape
Until nil remains to hide.

The residue of pain or loss is expelled through tears. The sun always shines again.
