Blow

Blow

A Poem by Amanda Avalon

A finished batch, just to pass the time
Reclused and changing frame of mind

I can take the licks

Just give me some kicks

Quarter to four, should be out the door

Right to the core, can't waste anymore

Body of lies- now here's a surprise

This little lamb's got Lion in her eyes

Creating a statement

Ignoring your placement

Steamroll the box, about to pop

Focus, focus, hocus-pocus

Here's another drop

Straight to the brain and fanning the flames

Wanting to dance, but

The merry-go-round just stops

Great imagery and rhyme in this piece, I like the sense of urgency created in mentioning time and an inability to focus. The pace and contrasts pack a strong impact.
