Suspension

Suspension

A Poem by Amanda Avalon

Pie in the sky I can't describe

Hangnails and broken skin

No anxiety, it ceases to build

I've got plenty of time to kill

A differed feeling, this wave of inner calm

Am I waiting for the bomb?

Enough is enough, time to get tough

No desire, no reaching out

A voice inside that's itching to shout

Feeling no pain, contentment regained

I've got no use of any pain

Again a locked box and justified cane

Overstimulation to avoid participation

I give myself a daily vacation

A dry mouth and I go south

Where's the open door behind this bout

Bedtime for Bonzo-

My nose attracts nonsense like Gonzo

Time to pull the plug

Refill that hole I dug

My heart's stopped racing

Can I catch the dream I'm chasing?
