Decay

Decay

A Poem by Amanda Avalon

Shortened breath
Exasperated exhale
Jaw bones can't fashion a smile
Built for your convenience
Devoid of self-confidence
Seemingly incompetent
This working machine's wheels
Are going to need some grease
Or they will just
Stop turning.

Due to inactivity
Sacral juices
Arteries clogged
I feel three times my age
Everyone is puzzled
So am I, why
Can't I explain
The reason

Smells like old age creeping in, though age may not always be the reason for such results. There are many reasons, and it's a shame to see young people suffer so.

Nice writing.
