A Poem by Amanda Avalon

Three girls
In the backseat
Bob Evans parking lot witnesses
Mid-decade-Summer
That drawn line
That rhyme of reason
Graying hair and aviator glasses
Stolen kiss
Adultry sawed through bones
And broke everything in half

Flourescent light revisioned
Wrote him a letter
He already knew
Oblivious to the fact
Ten years later
I spy and five and ten go
Hand in hand placing slash marks
Like the devil and a reaper
He lost her
She took him away

Thanks to everyone for your comments! This poem is in regards to my parents divorce and fathers death ten years later, and it's mental effects on me.

I love it. Creepy but good. Any particular story behind this, or was this just something floating in your head?

I agree with Kristen. I would love to know the story behind this one. And the imagery is lovely. Sometimes I didn't quite feel the flow of some of the lines... Maybe that's just me being tired?

Great poem. I rather wish I knew the story behind it. It paints a vivid picture. I'm going to have to favorite this one. Very great. I love it.

Ooh. This as a creepy tone to it almost. I want to look away and keeping reading all at the same time. The imagery with " adultery sawed through bones/ and broke everything in half" is where I see that. Great job over all though.
