Arachnids II (revised)

Arachnids II (revised)

A Poem by Amanda Avalon
"

Third version of a poem I wrote in October 2009. Revised per the Intermediate Poetry Workshop weekly assignment.

"

Squeak creak eat creep
rodents.
Crumbs all about the house
she takes three codeine
then boasts fifteen.
They’ll burrow underneath
attempt to displace
Cinderella damsel
in distress, this is home

Glass bottle cold
elixir. They
drop in to host
spew stomach acids/semen
forever stake and boast
and make false claims
from six to eight
legs to clasp in
and penetrate
-fake-
and take take take take
and take
everything from me
then say I’m the thief.
