A Poem by Amanda Avalon
"

a prayer.

"

hesitation

product of the recollection

my real veil of tears... not reptillian

events deep-seated in the past
competition

you know of our collision
our vertebrae dance

like this since

long before our births

the current moon in its full-

i howl at you
it casts nude skins aglow, knows this
my greatest wish
to co-exist

omit our suffering

no additional consequence

not to do
onto one another
any more harm

and so, if we should pass
your eyes of charcoal
ghostly slik skin muscle and force
has long surpassed mere penetration of body and soul
like Midnight's enveloping warmth

i still feel as if i'm safe at home

on our last night
a vow, i may partake
a year's celebacy preceeding
the sprinkles of rain amplify
a constant salt water bath
i turn from your sight
you
dear
irreplaceable

This is a prayer. Which is very interesting because I see you have interwoven parts of what could be called traditional prayer here:
"my greatest wish
to co-exist
omit our suffering
no additional consequence
not to do
onto one another
any more harm"

Which honestly was really powerful part of this poem when it was surrounded by the vulnerability explained in the beginning and then the painful covenant made at the end with the vow.
I love it! Can't wait to read more of your work.

I do understand your hesitation
but saw in your eyes
what I wanted to hear.

Two thoughts scream from the rest.
"A year of celibacy" and "irreplaceable".

A book of poems contained in those
two thoughts.

An excellent poem full of imagery and
very thought provoking.

Good luck and God Bless!
