Splatter

Splatter

A Poem by Amanda Avalon
"

Taken from my journal written May 2005- combined with a short 4-line stanza written Oct 2005. Revised and titled May 2009.

"

Nightstand holds
Bouquet of flowers
Lying
4 AM’s the hour
Another tear
Attempts escape
But doesn’t

 Quite

 Remember

How

Insomnia
Extreme exhaustion
Whatever your reaction
Proceed with caution

The feeling unnerving
Deep within your soul
Your belly laughs
It swallows you whole
Red in your womb

Blood roses in the glass
Every feeling
                    Over-whelming

            Grouping
  To an unsurmountable

I suspect that I should not touch
the subject matter. It sounds very
personal and intimate.

The writing is exquisite. Very well done.
Excellent poetry. I must read more of you.
THANK YOU !
