bindweedclimbsforattention

A Poem by ava india

bindweed climbs for attention in lots of five-hundred racing against red berries to spill onto the road pushing through the darkened wood fence three blank billboards tower over them //sign not in use// a strangely old fashioned bus flies piloted by two kneeling men the ocean has faded to yellow now it fills in hollows between trees like secret hideouts made for two
a tiny dark red car falling apart at the front desperately decorated with green and blue stickers holds a brown suited man
a long white car with ribbon over the bonnet holds a lone bride in lace
the signs in the village are grimy the gravestones under the church grow green overcoats
