A Heart

A Heart

A Poem by oughtum

A heart as soft as stone,

meets a heart as hard as flowers.

A heart unable to love,

meets a heart that has enough for everyone.

A heart as warm as the winter,

meets a heart as cold as the summer.

Sullen eyes meet bright eyes.

One pair shining with curiosity and laced with lovely warmth,

another shadowed with sadness and laced with painful reminders

A soft hand reaches out,

holding a calloused one with no fear and nothing but

love

kindness

serenity

and hope

to give.

Beautiful poem! The first two lines makes you think, well every line does. Opposites attract. Great poem! :)
