A Chapter by Evaro

Henshui wasn't unfamiliar with hangovers. He had his first hangover when he was 15, the pain so numbingly strong, it made the sting of his father's belt feel like gentle kisses. Since then, he had an unwavering relationship with hangovers. He was very able to deal with the discomfort of a hangover, but it still took time despite the many years. At 40, he needed at least five minutes after waking to get a grip.

It wasn't the morning's light or his phone ringing over some urgent matter that awoke him that morning. It was the incessant beeping of his computer. He was further annoyed by the fact that he hadn't known his computer could do that. The tension was crackling as he lifted himself off the bed, struggling to maintain balance while getting a grip on the biggest hangover of his life, and heading over to the computer. As he flipped the screen of the laptop open, the screen came to life and a message was waiting for him.

You've got mail.

"This better be some damn important mail," he growled in his most menacing voice that would send shivers down the spine of the hardest cop of the city.

He realised he was hacked, and that bothered him. He never kept any important information on the computer, so he knew he was safe. But he was bothered by the fact that someone took the pain to hack him, and then leave him a message that clearly let him know he was hacked. When he opened the mail, he was astounded, enough to make everything else vanish.

"You've got informers in your gang. Everything the cops have on you is in the attached file. In there is also the list of informers. A gift for a man who doesn't seem as intelligent as he let's himself out to be," he read the mail aloud.

Fifteen minutes later, when everything in the file was absorbed into his head, there was a smile on his face. "Whoever you are, thank you," he replied, and sent the mail, which he was sure would reach no where. Turning away from the system, as he headed into the shower, he crystallised the plan for the day in his head.

There was going to be a lot of blood spilt in the city. Starting from the informers of the cops, and the detectives who had masterminded the entire affair.
