Policeman

Policeman

A Chapter by Evaro

"I saw a policeman today."

"Seriously, improve your vocab. A cop is so much easier."

"That's not the point. Don't digress. The point is that he looked like those cops from he movies, the ones who are hot, with an amazing body and an amazing air about them."

"Oh, that's unusual. Guess movies aren't fake all the time."

"Yup, yup. This cop was so damn good, I couldn't look away."

"Good looking?"

"Not really. Just average, I guess. But on the whole, very impressive."

"Must be really amazing, to impress you."

"..."

"See the news?"

"They mention the girl?"

"Yup. No development."

"Still missing huh?"

"Yeah. They just don't have the brains."

"Or they're too busy with something else."

"Like protecting some politician scum."

"Or taking a bribe."

"Wish there were some real cops out there, who actually care."

"I'm sure there are. We're just not lucky enough to have them all over the place."

"Must be nice to be so optimistic."

"Yeah, it must be."

"..."

"Got your lens cleaned?"

"Yes. It's perfect now."

"Good. We can't have any more bad snaps."

"I know. I'll get them all prim and proper, you don't miss a thing."

"Don't worry. I've filled my pen. I'll note it all down."

"Look at the blood. It's not so fluid. Must have been a few hours."

"How long do you think before anyone else finds her?"

"No idea. It's 3 now. 5 is when the academy lets out the students. So, 5:15 is when the first call might go out."

"Right. The light just isn't right. It's going to take some effort getting good snaps."

"No excuses."

"I know. No excuses. I'll get them. You stop looking at me, and get started."

"Yeah. Trash can knocked over. The empty coke can rolled over in the direction of the fall, towards the wall. The tissue fell towards the same direction. Must have fallen before the wind picked up. So before 11. The blood's too thick to be that old, so the trash can was knocked over by someone else. Might have a possible witness, because it sure was knocked over by a person. The bit of skin on the edges of the trash can's top proves that. I'm getting a sample. Let's hope we can make something of it. The paper bowl was stepped on. Faint traces of the shoe. I'm getting that too, hopefully we can find the make of the shoe, and hopefully it is the shoe of the leg we are looking for."

"Stop snickering like a fool. Its gross. I'm almost done. Got all the angles of the girl and the alley. It's all in here. We can go if you're done. We've been here far too long already."

"Yes, yes. I'm almost done too. Look at the tear on the seam of her skirt. Its handmade. Someone tugged at her skirt. The skirt looks at least a year old, considering its washed often. I've got the pattern, the brand. I've got a feeling this will help. The blouse is beyond salvation. I'm not sure we're equipped enough to make anything of it. I'm leaving it. That's that then. I've got it all in my notebook. Let's go. I can feel someone coming."

"Let's go."

"Do you think its the same."

"I don't know. We'll know for sure by tonight, won't we?"

"Yeah, we will. But I get a feeling its the same."

"I hope you are wrong. I hope we are wrong, coz I get the same feeling too."
