times when working on your car. Wear other private protective equipment (PPE)
when required, for example latex gloves or closed toe shoes. 1 Start your car and warm up the engine. Park
the car on a flat surface and turn the engine off. Pause 2 or 3 minutes to
allow the oil to drain to the bottom of the oil pan. 2 Open the hood and find the oil dipstick
handle. Bring up to your car owner's manual for the exact location. 3 Twitch the oil dipstick out of the tube and
wipe off the engine oil with a clean shop rag. 4 Insert the dipstick again into the dipstick
tube all the way. 5 Pull the oil dipstick out and keep a check
on the oil level. The oil level should be amid the Min and Max marks on the dipstick. 6 Add oil if below the Min mark. It takes one quart to increase the oil level from Min to Max. © 2019 Autokartz |
