I love how the words 'passing out' are in red and at the beginning of that line, i feel it gives a more sinister undertone to the sweetness of the poem as you wonder if maybe it has a double meaning? I also love the reminiscent edge to it, it really reflects fond memories that maybe ended badly. Wonderful how you can fit so much into a few lines.

The holidays do seem to make us miss our loved ones more.
The sweet candy just dont compare to those we love and miss..no longer with us.
This was a very sweet thought

it's sad when traditions are lost. it happens more and more as you get older and life changes things. i hope you create new traditions that mean just as much to you.

Perhaps it is because I am given to entirely too much thought on things, but I could not help but notice the manner in which the color of the lines changes the meaning of the piece. It takes it to a different level, a sad level, a most contemplative level.

Christmas is not just candy canes. There is more to it. Some of it sad. Some of it happy. There is more meaning to it than all of the little things that we go about in some mad ritual each year.

Do we hide in the ritual, to hide from everything else it may not mean to us? Is Christmas cheer a little bit of oblivious to help us get through the end of the year....

So sad for something dealing with candy, i got to say it surely makes a big impact... cause no matter how good the candy is it don't compare to the person you love not being there.

Simple and sweet.
Needs some peppermint flavoring to complete it. :)
