Divorce

Divorce

A Poem by Laura E. Aranda
"

written for the 10/40

"

Pitch your deceitful dagger into the throat of this marriage

Our vows nothing more than scarped erosion to you

Dreams of our destiny landed in the bog of lamentations

Breaking waves of fat sorrow alphabet through my unpolished

Turmoiled mind

There's a lot of anger in this poem. I was 19 when my parents split. But pops was VERY fond of the booze as I was growing up, so methinks it didn't strike me too hard. Obviously you were part of a close family, and the hurt shows in the work.

Be well and be safe, always,
Mark

Hmm. I just deeply sensed this poem. I like it. It is rarely real. Good portrayal.

Thank you.

Wow. I was impressed by the power so few words held. I'm honestly left speechless.
It must have been a hard time...

You get the point across without going overboard with it and I can hear someone reading this with a venom that pierces the cold heart of person who holds the dagger. It reminds me of my parent's divorce, which isn't quite fresh anymore but it still stings when I think about it. An amazingly well written short piece.

Woh, OMG, 25 yrs?? Jeez, im am so sorry :( That is just really terrible to hear, man :( But i must say that u did a great job in explaining what goes on in situations such as these. It must be so hard, and i feel for those who go thru that. Great job with this tho. *Hugs*
