Battle of the Blues

Battle of the Blues

A Poem by Laura E. Aranda
"

Written for a contest

"

Battle with all your heart, fight for your sanity

Like no one else can save you, 'cause they can't, you gotta want to

Understand the blues aren't here to stay

Evolve, become, grow, baby, 'cause no one can get you out but you

Depression may stinks but your skills of speaking loudly withis poem is not. Short and impactful. I wish i could speak so profoundly and yet so quick. What a gift and thanks for sharing. When you get a chance check out my journey through life. I really enjoyed and I am looking forward to reading more. Peace

I can so identify with this. There's a wonderful honesty in your writing, stark situations neatly expressed. Nice to know I'm not the only one on the rollercoaster! XXCarey

This is great. Strong, up-lifting words. Sometimes what we really need to get us going is a real good kick in the a*s . . .

This is really beautiful. I've had my bouts of blues before and it's a nasty struggle within yourself. No one, absolutely no one can pull you out of it. They can make you come out of it for minutes or days if your lucky, but in the end you're the one who must overcome it. Great poem.

What a positive note to end it on. So often when the blues or depression smacks us upside the head it sometimes seems as if it will never go away. It often seems like there's no will to fight either. What 4 powerful lines it is!

I liked this one. I was so deep and good for all four lines that you used. The color's a bit blinding on the white, though. :)
Still - the writing is great.

So true. I liked the part about fighting for your sanity. Once you lose it, it's so hard to reclaim.

That is so true... you can only be saved if you want to be... though loved ones can help you through it you have to be the one to reach the light and pull yourself out of the darkness... a powerful and thought provoking write.
